With river cruises offered throughout Europe, Asia and Africa you can now explore quaint towns, magnificent cities, ancient landmarks and even the wildlife of Africa. The hardest part is deciding where to venture first. Here is a sampling of the places you could discover on a river cruise.

Verify your travel documents. Make sure you have the proper documentation to enter the countries you are visiting and that your passport is valid for the duration of your trip and beyond. It is also a good idea to e-mail yourself a copy of your documents in case they need to be replaced due to loss or theft.
