CAA NORTH & EAST ONTARIO RESPONDS TO ZOOM AIRLINES ANNOUNCEMENTAugust 29th, 2008Ottawa, August 29, 2008- CAA North & East Ontario (CAANEO) is committed to ensuring peace of mind for all travelers who rely on their services. In the wake of the announcement by Otta`wa-based Zoom Airlines that it has halted all flights and grounded its planes, hundreds of passengers have been stranded and thousands of would-be vacationers are left looking for alternate plans. CAANEO operates a travel agency that is registered with The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) and pays into a compensation fund to protect its travelers. Thanks to the efforts of CAANEO?s Travel Professionals, CAANEO Members who booked flights through the autoclub?s Travel Agency Services and were affected by the shutdown have been contacted and offered assistance both in seeking compensation and booking alternate flights.
