CAA, Approved Auto Repair Services

We assist you in finding the best quality help for your car through The Canadian Automobile Association's Approved Auto Repair Services (AARS) Program, which was introduced in 1975. This program identifies facilities that meet the CAA's strict standards for quality service and takes the guesswork out of obtaining quality motor repair service at fair and reasonable prices.

Only an Approved Auto Repair Outlet is entitled to display the CAA Approved Auto Repair Service Sign.

Approved garages provide a 12-month/20,000km parts and labour warranty on their repairs.

Finding a Good Technician

Quality technicians tend to work in shops that are well equipped and keep up with new technology. Look for the mechanics Provincial Certificate of Qualification and any other diplomas that they may have received for upgraded training. They should be posted in their workplace.

A good shop should be busy with repeat customers and referrals. It should be neat, organized and reasonably clean. The staff should be courteous, professional and willing to explain repairs to you. Many shops have an assistant service manager or service adviser as a liaison between you and the technician, but you should be able to discuss your problem with a technician.

It helps if you can explain the exact nature of your problem. Any symptoms you can describe will go a long way toward repairing the car. Never authorize a repair shop to fix whatever needs fixing. Get a written estimate before repairs begin, and be available by phone in case other repairs are needed. Read repair orders before you sign them, and ask for your old parts back.

You have done your homework. Now see if the technician has done the same. When you return, your car should be repaired. If it is not, return it to the same shop. If your complaint is not addressed promptly the second time, you may want to find a new technician or a new shop. If it is repaired properly the first time and you liked the way you were treated, you may have found a shop you can trust and one you can recommend to others.

The next time you need repairs on your vehicle, give the job to the people you know you can trust. Look for the A.A.R.S. sign first. CAA Approved Auto Repair Services facilities display the red, white and blue AARS sign proudly - after all they have earned it.

Warranty for CAA Members

The need for quality-backed repairs in the automotive industry is very important. Of equal importance is the backing of automotive servicing and repairs by a quality warranty to reassure customers who are very aware of how expensive vehicle operating costs can be. Now CAA Members in good standing can receive this enhanced repair assurance when purchasing work from any CAA Approved Auto Repair Service (AARS) facility.

To complement the "Quality Work at Fair Prices" that you already receive from this AARS facility, the parts and labour warranty coverage has been extended to 12-Month / 20,000 kilometers, whichever occurs first. (If for any reason the AARS facility is unable to provide a complete warranty the limitations will be documented on the repair order).

CAA Members have the very best at this Approved Auto Repair Service facility - the best service and the best warranty.
