CAA/AAA Four and Five Diamond Awards
CAA North & East Ontario is pleased to recognize the two restaurants and five hotels located throughout the North & East Ontario region that have been included on the prestigious CAA/AAA Four Diamond list for 2012. Achieving and maintaining this level of hospitality is a significant accomplishment, appreciating that only 4.8 percent of the 31,000 CAA/AAA rated lodgings and 2.7 percent of the 28,000 CAA/AAA approved restaurants received a Four Diamond rating, for a total of 2,245 establishments throughout Canada, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean. CAA/AAA's rating system is the only one that covers all of North America and one of only two that conduct physical, on-site evaluations. CAA/AAA rates more properties than any other entity, with professionally trained CAA/AAA inspectors using published guidelines to evaluate establishments on an annual basis. To be eligible for evaluation, properties must meet basic requirements during an unannounced inspection. The 2012 Four Diamond recipients from North & East Ontario are: The Westin Ottawa, Fairmont Château Laurier, Ottawa Marriott Hotel, Minto Suite Hotel, Brookstreet, The Capital Dining Room, and Perspectives Restaurant. What defines a Four Diamond establishment? For a restaurant it means establishments are geared to individuals in search of a distinctive fine-dining experience. Often orchestrated by an executive chef and an accomplished staff, menus reflect a high degree of creativity and complexity, using imaginative presentations to enhance high quality. The ambiance is highly refined, comfortable and well co-ordinated, incorporating quality materials and a variety of upscale design enhancements to give a first-class impression. While for lodgings, a Four Diamond rating reflects properties that are upscale in all areas. Accommodations are progressively more refined and stylish. The physical attributes reflect an obvious enhanced level of quality throughout the property. Includes an extensive array of amenities combined with a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail.
Representatives of the seven establishments that received a Four Diamond rating from the North & East Ontario region posed for a photo during an award recognition ceremony on March 20, 2012, at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa. Media representatives were also in attendance to help provide exposure to the phenomenal achievements of these establishments.
