CAA and Disability

Since 1903, CAA has been keeping Canadians safe on the road and representing Members' Interest to all levels of government and industry. Now we're enriching our service offering. Through our alliance with eSSENTIAL Accessibility™, CAA is taking part in a Disability Community Involvement Initiative launched in association with leading advocacy groups for the disabled. If you have trouble typing, moving a mouse or reading, eSSENTIAL Accessibility can greatly enhance your experience at caaneo.ca.

Keyboard and mouse replacement solutions include a webcam-based hands-free movement tracking system, a page reader, predictive typing and other customizable options.

eSSENTIAL Accessibility tools can be used on a standard PC* by anyone with dexterity challenges or reading difficulties arising from a variety of conditions, including:

  • Stroke/paralysis
  • Arthritis
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • Parkinson's disease
  • Cerebral Palsy (CP)
  • Age-related factors
  • Mild visual impairment
  • Limited proficiency in English

eSSENTIAL Accessibility is enhanced communication support for people who have trouble reading, typing or moving a mouse. It helps us meet customer service, employment, and information and communication standards mandated by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
