Families and kids at Walt Disney World Resort's newest attraction - Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

What’s New at Walt Disney World in 2020?

Here’s why 2020 is set to be the most sensational year to visit Walt Disney World Resort.

New attractions, new events, and new experiences – with the same Disney magic. Here are the top five must-see attractions at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida for 2020.

Live out your favourite outer-space adventures inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Guests can now experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, a brand-new attraction that brings visitors right into the heart of the action, in the epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Touted as one of the most ambitious and technologically advanced attractions in Disney history, you’ll enjoy becoming a space pilot, gunner or flight engineer on a make-believe mission that will blast you across the stars.

1) Watch out for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the first ride-through attraction featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Set to debut on March 4 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this zany and unpredictable adventure through the cartoon world of the Disney Channel’s Emmy Award-winning® “Mickey Mouse” shorts is powered by state-of-the-art technology to dazzling effect.

2) Epcot will welcome another exciting festival season with the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. Taking place Jan. 17 - Feb. 24, the arts fest will then be followed by the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival from March 4 - June 1. These special events invite guests to explore artistic exhibitions, live demonstrations, musical performances, and gastronomic food and drink. Also at Epcot, the new limited-time nighttime spectacular Epcot Forever will dazzle you with soaring fireworks, inspiring music, lasers and colorful glowing kites that light up the sky above the World Showcase Lagoon.

3) Movie buffs will enjoy three new films, set to debut Jan. 17, 2020, at Epcot:

Awesome Planet in The Land pavilion showcases the Earth’s beauty and diversity in a 10-minute film featuring spectacular imagery, special sound effects and an original musical score from Academy Award-winning® composer Steven Price.

Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along invites guests to participate in a twist of the tale as old as time. Directed and produced by Don Hahn, the talent behind the animated and live-action “Beauty and the Beast” films, the film takes place in the France pavilion and also features narration from Angela Lansbury (who played Mrs. Potts in the original film).

See home as you never have before in the Canadian pavilion! Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360 is a brand-new take on the previously playing “O Canada!” film. It’s been edited to include new scenes and a sensational musical score by Canadian composer Andrew Lockington. Expect a few familiar voices, with narration by award-winning Canadian actors Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy.

4) At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests can explore Pandora – The World of Avatar, an immersive land featuring massive floating mountains, bioluminescent rainforests and unbelievable experiences including Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey.
