Before you embark on a short ride or a weekend cycling excursion, it's crucial to ensure you have everything you need for a safe and enjoyable journey. Here’s a handy checklist to help you prepare.
Pre-ride checks
Before you head out, take a moment to check the following:
- Tire pressure
- Gears
- Brakes
- Lights
Hydration
Make sure to pack a filled water bottle to keep yourself hydrated during your ride.
Communication and identification
Bring your cell phone for navigation and emergencies, along with your ID and health card for safety.
Weather preparedness
Check the weather forecast and pack appropriate layers to prepare for warm or wet conditions.
Safety gear
Don't forget your helmet and eye protection or sunglasses to ensure your safety while riding.
Emergency kit
