Ever wanted to sail on a luxury yacht? With Windstar Cruises' latest ship, Star Seeker, now you can.

This new experience is set to redefine leisure. Designed for intimate voyages, Star Seeker’s smaller size allows access to secluded ports and hidden treasures that larger ships can't reach. Star Seeker sets sail from Malaga to Miami on its maiden voyage in December 2025. Afterward, it will explore the Caribbean, spend the summer cruising Alaska, and later journey to Japan and Southeast Asia.

But the excitement doesn't stop there—Windstar is also preparing to launch a sister ship, Star Explorer, which will debut in December 2026.

Star Seeker combines the elegance of a luxury yacht with the thoughtful amenities of a modern cruise ship. With just 112 spacious suites, you can enjoy the ship’s relaxed, uncrowded atmosphere.

Travellers have 12 different accommodation types to choose from, including a brand-new category called Horizon Owner's Suites, which feature wrap-around balconies, and Infinity Suites with floor-to-ceiling windows that open directly to the sea. There are no interior rooms on Star Seeker, meaning that wherever your private accommodation is located, you’ll have access to sparkling ocean views throughout the entire voyage.

Onboard, guests can enjoy five distinct dining venues included in their fare. The regions inspire the menu, offering a culinary journey that complements your itinerary. The ship also features a full-service spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a Watersports Platform, allowing direct access to the ocean for kayaking, paddleboarding, and swimming.

Where it goes

After a transatlantic maiden voyage from Spain to Florida and adventures in the Caribbean and Alaska, Star Seeker will take travellers to Japan, Southeast Asia, and beyond.

One standout itinerary is a 10-day exploration of Japan, a country that seamlessly blends ancient traditions with modern innovation. Rather than sticking to cities like Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, this cruise introduces you to Japan's hidden gems.

Highlights include basking in the foothills of Mount Fuji, wandering through the ancient cedar forests of Shingu, and relaxing in the soothing waters of an onsen hot spring in Kagoshima.

You'll also visit the iconic Itsukushima Shrine, with its famous red torii gate rising majestically from the sea.

Foodies will love indulging in fresh sashimi and handmade noodles at coastal restaurants, while nature lovers can enjoy Japan's breathtaking scenery. This journey balances relaxation, adventure, and cultural discovery—from traditional tea rooms to spiritual sites off the beaten path.
