Sudbury is full of exciting activities and events to enjoy this spring! There is always something happening in our city, from live theatre and music performances to family-friendly festivals and unique museum exhibits. Don’t miss checking out seasonal activities that make this time of year extra special.  

Whether you’re looking to rediscover your city or just want to make the most of what Sudbury has to offer, here are some top things to check out this spring. 

Build With LEGO Bricks Like A Pro

Where: Science North, 100 Ramsey Lake Rd., Sudbury, ON 

Explore a magical world created entirely of LEGO at Science North, made by renowned artist Sean Kenney. This interactive exhibit features over 100 unique sculptures built with over 2 million LEGO blocks. Look behind the curtain into how these colourful masterpieces are made and engage in hands-on activities, learning about colour theory engineering principles and bringing your ideas to life. Check out the installations throughout spring and summer.

The Beach Boys: Endless Summer Gold Tour 

When: April 4, 2025 

Where: Sudbury Community Arena, 240 Elgin St., Sudbury 

The Beach Boys have become synonymous with a California lifestyle. They are marking more than a half-century of making music. This iconic band, known for popular hits including "Wouldn’t It Be Nice," "Kokomo," and countless others, is bringing their Endless Summer Gold Tour to Sudbury on April 5, 2025.  

Musical Journey: Through the Years 

When: April 5, 2025 

Where: 385 Haig St., Greater Sudbury, ON 

Take a nostalgic auditory adventure back in time through the decades from the rock n’ rolling 50s to the grungy hip-hopping 90’s. Live bands and talented impersonators will bring a musical journey to life during a dinner and dance show on April 5, 2025. Dance the night away, creating musical memories while supporting a great cause – proceeds from the event go to the Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation.  

Sudbury 250th Anniversary Events 

When: April 19 and May 18, 2025 

Where: Various locations in Sudbury, MA 

Celebrate Sudbury's rich history with events marking the 250th anniversary of the Minutemen March. On April 19, experience the inspiring Minutemen March in the morning, followed by an evening of live music. Then, on May 18, immerse yourself in a captivating presentation and re-enactment of Deborah Sampson’s story—a remarkable American Revolutionary War hero who disguised herself as a man to fight for the Patriot cause.   

Kip Moore: Solitary Tracks World Tour  

When: April 18, 2025 

Where: The Grand, 28 Elgin St., Sudbury, ON 

Country artist Kip Moore brings his world tour to The Grand in Sudbury on April 18, 2025. Sport your country hats and cowboy boots if you have them as you spend an evening enjoying popular songs such as Something ‘Bout a Truck, Hey Pretty Girl and More Girls Like You. Of course, new tracks will be performed from Kip’s latest album, Solitary Tracks.  

Bad Hats Theatre’s Alice in Wonderland 

When: April 25 to May 11, 2025 

Where: Sudbury Theatre Centre, 170 Shaughnessy St., Greater Sudbury, ON 

Coming straight from a Toronto stage to Sudbury, watch this contemporary spin on the classic Alice in Wonderland story. Young Alice is sent to the corner of her classroom to finish her homework when she spots a white rabbit in the yard, so her whimsical adventure begins. The comedic performance modernizes a magical story we all know and love.  

Rock of Ages 

When: May 1 to May 17, 2025 

Where: Thorneloe University, 935 Ramsey Lake Rd., Greater Sudbury 

Transport yourself back to a party in Hollywood at the end of the 1980’s. A rock n’ roll tale filled with colourful characters and aspiring artists is brought to the stage with hits by Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Def Leppard and many others. 

This show, presented by Sudbury Performance Group, runs from May 1 to May 17, 2025. Catch other performances at the theatre: the Alice by Heart musical from June 5 to 7 and Beetlejuice Jr. playing from June 12 to 21.  

Falconry Experience

When: May 1 to October 31, 2025 

Where: Address information provided upon booking 

Gain a close-up view of some majestic birds of prey during this rare one-hour falconry experience. The session begins with a falcon meet and greet, chatting about how they fly and hunt before each group member takes a turn holding this fierce bird. Then, you’ll all move out to the flying field to admire the falcon’s power as it takes down prey from above. A hawk later joins the group to watch and interact with in the flying yard. This seasonal activity typically runs from mid-April to the end of October, weather permitting. 

Animals At The Symphony 

When: May 3, 2025 

Where: 154 College St., Greater Sudbury, ON 

Searching for indoor kid-friendly activities this spring? Hit the matinee on May 3, 2025, for a concert event mixing Saint-Saens’ beloved Carnival of the Animals with a modern addition to this work. These short pieces of art and creative storytelling make for a great family show. 

Spring Fling 

When: May 31 and June 1, 2025 

Where: Bell Park, Paris St., Greater Sudbury, ON 

Northern Ontario’s largest inflatable park is back this year at Spring Fling with 20 other attractions for two days packed with fun. Spend family time jumping and racing on massive inflatables, try your hand at axe throwing, compete in a video game competition for a potential cash prize, test your strength on the rock-climbing wall, taste different foods from across the city in the Vendor Village, and more on May 31 and June 1, 2025. 

Paint Social 

When: Various dates 

Where: Various locations around Greater Sudbury 

All you need to do is pick a date with your ideal painting and get your creative juices flowing for a fun evening of guided artwork. If you’re ready to relax and do something artistic but don’t know where to start, this step-by-step painting event is a great place to start. All painting supplies are included.  

Nordic Lounge

Open: Monday to Saturday, all year 

Where: 2-863 Barrydowne Rd., Sudbury, ON 

Escape into a day of wellness and relaxation with spa treatments like massage, facials, or pedicures and a thermal cycle experience in the new Nordic Lounge at Ezentials. The Nordic Lounge features a dry cedar sauna, eucalyptus steam room, cold shower mist, cold bucket shower, rest area with crackling fires, and rehydration station. Reserve a 60—or 90-minute session and prepare to decompress.  

Sudbury Market 

When: All year on Saturdays, and Thursdays from June to October 

Where: Corner of York St. and Paris St., Sudbury, ON, and 40 Elm St., Sudbury, ON 

You don’t need to wait until the end of spring to shop for fresh produce and local, handmade goods. The Saturday market at Elm Place opens at 9 a.m. and is held either indoors or outdoors, depending on the season and weather. The outdoor Thursday market opens in June.  

Trivia Night

When: Every Wednesday evening 

Where: 63 Cedar St., Sudbury, ON 

Head out to Peddler’s Pub in downtown Sudbury on a Wednesday evening for the city’s longest-running trivia night. You can book your spot ahead of time with Two Thumbs Trivia, whether you’re dropping by alone or with a team. It’s free to play, with many prizes to be won and some random entertainment to be expected.  

Easter Egg Hunt 

When: Easter Weekend 2025 (Exact date TBD) 

Where: Anderson Farm Museum, Greater Sudbury, ON 

Bring the kids to the annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Walden Lions Club. Children of all ages can hunt for eggs in designated zones based on age groups. The Easter Bunny and Walden Lions mascots will also be on-site for photos and hugs. This free community event requires participants to bring their own baskets.
