Thinking of travel? The right time to plan for it is now

Thinking of your next trip? Whether you’re heading out of province or to warmer climates this winter, here are three questions to consider when planning your next big adventure.

This is the key question every aspiring traveller should prioritize. Fortunately, travel insurance providers have you covered. For instance, CAA Insurance’s Emergency Medical Insurance offers coverage for emergency hospital transportation, accommodations and associated fees, emergency dental treatments, and more. However, coverage can vary significantly among insurance providers, especially in the current travel landscape.

Enhanced protection with CAA Travel Insurance

To help you book with confidence, CAA Travel Insurance provides enhancements to keep you protected while travelling. CAA Travel Insurance emergency medical plans now include up to $2.5 million in coverage if partially vaccinated with a Health Canada-approved vaccine or up to $5 million if fully vaccinated for illnesses that may occur while travelling during heightened advisories.

Choosing the right plan

What kind of plan do I need? This depends on who else is travelling with you. If you’re going solo, consider CAA Travel Insurance’s Individual Plan—ideal for occasional trips. It offers customizable coverage to suit your needs, along with optional deductibles to further lower your premiums.

Travelling with family?

Traveling with your family? Ensure everyone is covered with a group plan like CAA Travel Insurance’s Family Plan. You’ll feel secure knowing your loved ones are protected in a medical emergency. The Family Plan is customizable to meet your family’s needs, including the option to add a deductible for additional savings. Even better, CAA Members always save up to 20% on insurance coverage!

Planning multiple trips?

What if I am planning on more than one trip? With hope on the horizon for travellers, you may be planning multiple trips. Some travel insurance providers offer extended coverage for those who travel frequently. CAA Travel Insurance provides both Single and Multi-Trip Plans. Here’s the breakdown:

Single trip plan

  • Protect against the cost of unexpected medical emergencies for the duration of your trip.
  • For one trip only.
  • Travel for up to 365 days with GHIP approval.
  • Extended coverage is available when travelling with you. If you’re going solo, consider CAA Travel Insurance’s Individual Plan—ideal for if you stay longer than originally planned.
  • Only pay for the coverage you need.

Multi-trip plan

  • Protect against the cost of unexpected medical emergencies for multiple individual trips (up to 4, 8, 15, or 30 days each) throughout the year. Your Multi-Trip Annual Plan starts each time you leave Canada. If you stay longer than the days included in the plan, a top-up can be purchased.
  • For an unlimited number of trips in one year.
  • Travel for up to 4, 8, 15, or 30 days per trip.
  • Staying away longer than 15 or 30 days? A top-up is available.
  • Purchase once and be covered for an entire year.
