Summary

  • Ontario lavender fields near Ottawa and in Northern Ontario bloom from late June through July.
  • Featured farms include destinations around Ottawa and northern Ontario.
  • Visits include festivals, pick-your-own experiences, yoga sessions and seasonal farm events.

No need to budget for a summer trip to Provence, France, as Ontario is home to gorgeous lavender fields worth exploring. Breathe in the relaxing floral scent as you stroll through lush rows of purple.

Many Ontario farms host special events with lavender-flavoured snacks or the opportunity to pick your own flowers from their gardens. While you can find a lavender farm to visit in practically every direction from the city of Ottawa, there are also blooming fields in Northern Ontario cities such as Sudbury and Manitoulin Island.

The season of fragrant purple blooms may be short, but it smells so sweet. Mark your calendar, as lavender begins blooming in late June and continues through July, depending on which varieties, both English and French, each farm is growing.

Here are sixteen Ontario lavender fields to have on your radar for summer adventures.
