The major responsibilities of the CAA North & East Ontario’s Board of Directors include acting as Members in trust to ensure the protection of Member equity, determining the Club’s mission, supporting management and insuring ensuring effective organizational planning.

The Board also assists with managing resources effectively, monitoring the delivery of programs and services and enhancing the organization's public image, serving as a court of appeal, and assessing its performance.

Meet the Board

Peter McIntosh - Chair of the Board
Peter McIntosh | Chair of the Board

A resident of Ottawa, Peter has served on the Board of Directors since 2007. He has held the role of Treasurer from 2013 to 2015 before assuming the role of Vice Chair from 2016 to 2018 and has recently been appointed Chair of the Board.

As Owner and President of McIntosh Trading Inc., an International multichannel importer, exporter, wholesaler, and retailer in the gift and tableware industry, Peter’s expertise and responsibilities include product development, marketing, sales, human resources, operations, and finance.

Peter was honoured with a 40 under 40 award, was named as one of the Socially Responsible Retailers of the Year and was a silver award winner at the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

He studied economics, brand marketing and business management and in 1994 received an Honors Business Administration Degree from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

Vicky Paine-Mantha - Vice Chair of the Board
Vicky Paine-Mantha | Vice Chair of the Board

A resident of North Bay, Vicky has been a member of the Board since 2013, a CAA member since 1996. She has held the role of Treasurer from 2016 to 2018 and was most recently appointed to the position of the Vice Chair of the Board.

Vicky has extensive executive experience at the post-secondary education level having served as President and Vice Chancellor of Nipissing University and prior to that as Vice President of Finance and Administration. In 2000, she was selected as the Lieutenant Governor-in-Council as a member of the Board of Governors of Nipissing University.

Other past experiences include Executive Vice President, Strategic Business Development for Momentum Healthware Inc. and Vice President of Finance and Administration at Canadore College of Applied Arts and Technology.

Vicky was honoured with the Influential Women of Northern Ontario award in 1999. Her health software development company, Healthware Technologies Inc. also won the Northern Ontario Small Business of the Year award in 1996.

She received her Chartered Accounting Designation ( CPA, CA) in 1983 and has a Master of Business Administration from Laurentian University.

Robert Keeper - Immediate Past Chair of the Board
Robert Keeper | Immediate Past Chair of the Board

A resident of Thunder Bay, Robert has been a part of the Board of Directors since 2004. He served as Vice Chair of the Board from January 2013 to January 2016 and Chair of the Board from January 2016 to January 2018.

Robert is a businessman and Director of a commercial real estate development company in Thunder Bay and Director of several full service casual dining restaurants.

He is a graduate of Confederation College majoring in Labour Relations Law and Human Resources.

Gerry Brown
Gerry Brown

A resident of Ottawa, Gerry has been a member of the Board since 2014. Gerry is past President and CEO of Colleges and Institutes Canada (formerly ACCC).

He also served as President of John Abbott College in Montreal and, prior to joining John Abbott College, was a Director of English Educational Services for the Quebec Ministry of Education.

Gerry was a founding member and Chair of the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics, as well as the Chair of the Canadian College Presidents’ Network and it’s Presidents’ Academy.

Gerry holds a Master’s Degree from McGill University, an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the University of Atacama, Chile, and is a recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee medal. He is presently active as a consultant at the national and international levels.

William (Bill) Middleton
William (Bill) Middleton

A resident of Ottawa, Bill is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Association of Intellectual Property Lawyers of America, the Licensing Executives Society and the Institute of Corporate Directors.

He has held various senior business executive roles with technology companies in the Ottawa region, with insurance companies and a large Canadian retail/wholesale/manufacturing company. Bill has also been a 4 time General Counsel and was in a private practice with 2 national law firms prior to that. He now provides general counsel services to small & medium sized companies and other organizations throughout Ontario and has diverse experience in corporate commercial law, technology law, employment law, health and insurance law, and in complex litigation management and alternative dispute resolution.

Bill has Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees from Western University, has served on several Boards, and continues to maintain an active role in charitable organizations.

Sean Davies
Sean Davies

A resident of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Sean is Co-owner of Maintair Aviation Services Limited and is the President of DECIPHR Aviation Consulting and the President for JSWaG Investments Limited, in Thunder Bay.

Sean is well-versed in the Aviation Industry and has been named a member of the “Top 20 under 40” in Thunder Bay (2016) by both the Young Professionals Network and Wings Magazine, and is also a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal.

Sean is an active Director on the Boards for Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation, Staal Foundation Open and Wasaya Group Inc. He is the Chair of the YQT Airline Operators Committee (AOC) and is the Co-chair of the NextGen Cabinet for the Cardiovascular Surgery Campaign recently launched in Thunder Bay. He continues to serve as a member of the Save a Heart Ball event committee, among numerous other charitable organizations.

Tatiana Pranova
Tatiana Pranova

A resident of Ottawa, Tatiana joined the Board in 2020. Tatiana is an accomplished finance executive with more than 20 years of progressive experience in corporate finance and accounting in the technology industry. She brings expertise in financial stewardship, strategic planning, and business strategy development.

Tatiana’s most recent experience has been as CFO of RealDecoy. Her success as a strategic partner is built on a foundation of considerable leadership and management experience obtained from prior work at Canadian Science Publishing, BA International Inc., BTI Photonic Systems, Optelian, and Precidia Technologies.

In 2019, Tatiana was featured by Keynote Search in their Top CFO for Keynote’s Tips from CFO Pros for her unique insight into Strategy and Leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Administration and an MBA, and she earned a certificate in Leadership Studies from Harvard Business School in 2017. Since 2017 Tatiana has been on the Board of Directors of JET Ottawa as Treasurer, and she is actively involved in Ottawa's Russian and Jewish communities.

Ella Mar
Ella Mar

Ella Mar has served on profit and not-for-profit boards. She is a consultant to leaders of small and mid-size companies on scaling their business. Ella specializes in bringing strategic planning into the realm of clear manageable execution plans.

During the past 25 years, Ella has held leading roles at dynamic Ottawa technology companies, including Nortel, Entrust, CrossKeys, Espial and Irdeto. She brings a depth and range of experience, having headed up operations, marketing, technology, professional services, sales support, finance and human resources. She has managed teams and worked with customers across North America, Europe and Asia.

Ella holds a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science from the University of Alberta. She has completed the University of Boston School of Management's Leadership Development program and the University of Ottawa EMBA Executive Leadership program.

Marianne Matichuk
Marianne Matichuk

Marianne is a Sudbury resident with more than 30 years of health and safety, political and business experience. She is the Principal Consultant of M. Matichuk & Associates and inaugural Chief Administrative Officer of the Centre for Research in Occupational Safety and Health (CROSH). She is also the first elected female former Mayor of the City of Greater Sudbury.

Marianne currently serves as Chair of the Workplace Safety & Prevention Services Ontario and Board Governor of the Canadian Registered Safety Professionals; and is a Past-President of Business & Professional Women Greater Sudbury, as well as a past board member on several local charities and boards.

She is a business graduate from Cambrian College, and holds CRSP, CHSC, Certified Lead Auditor designations, as well as a Certified Nutrition Manager.
