*Price listed is per chip. Due to safety standards, there can only be a maximum of 2 chips on the windshield before it needs to be replaced. A CAA certified technician will inspect the chip on the windshield prior to repairing to ensure it is serviceable. During the process of repairing the windshield, additional damage may occur. In the unlikely event that this occurs, CAA shall not be held liable for the replacement or reimbursement costs.
Is your windshield repairable?
Three main factors in evaluating a windshield’s damage are size, depth and location. Larger or deeper cracks near the edge of your windshield are much more likely to require replacement but there are also signs that indicate your windshield is repairable. Once you have assessed that your chip is serviceable, book an appointment and one of our certified technicians will repair your windshield chip, right at your home.
Here are some signs your windshield is repairable:
- The chip does not exceed the size of a dime; a diameter of approximately 18 mm
- A chip is located with a minimum of 40 mm between the point of impact and the edge of the windshield
- The outer layer of glass on the windshield is the only area damaged
- There is no large, complex damage or visible cracks
- The chip does not obstruct the driver’s line of sight, which is approximately 300 mm wide and positioned above the middle of the steering wheel

Mobile Chip Repair FAQ
It is best to fix it as soon as possible so the crack does not grow. If a chip grows too much, windshield chip repair may no longer be an option, and your windshield may need to be replaced.
All eligible chip repairs are at the expense of the CAA Member.
We will not perform the service on the street for the safety of our technicians. The Member must make alternative arrangements for a safe location.
The service technician will have wheel chocks, so as long as the slope is not extreme, there should not be a problem.
Due to unforeseen circumstances or inclement weather, the appointment may be cancelled or rescheduled based on availability.
