CAA creates CAA Ottawa ‘superstore’ in merger designed to provide wider range of services to Members

March 1, 2024 (Ottawa) – CAA North & East Ontario today announced the merger of its Hunt Club and Nepean stores as of April 15, 2024, to create a centralized location offering extended hours, more staff and increased capacity to help with Member inquiries.

“Bringing the two stores together under one roof increases the number of available travel, membership and insurance consultants in one place, which means our Members have access to all the expertise they need in one visit,” says Patricia Marques, Managing Director, Retail & Call Centre Sales & Operations.

“At the newly named CAA Ottawa location (formerly CAA Nepean), we will have six Travel Consultants, three Home and Auto Insurance Agents and three Member Services specialists, making this our largest store in the National Capital Region.”

The centralized location, at 1331 Clyde Avenue, Unit 5, is a short 10km away from the former Hunt Club store and offers ample free parking plus a range of retail and shopping outlets nearby.

The merged location will also offer extended hours into the evening and on Saturdays. The store will be open Monday to Friday until 6pm.

Why is CAA merging the Hunt Club and Nepean locations into CAA Ottawa?

We’re always looking at ways to improve our Members’ experience in our retail locations, so we took this opportunity to increase the number of travel, membership and insurance experts in one spot. The goal is to offer more services, shorter wait times and a truly incredible level of expertise to all our Members.

What will the newly merged store have that’s different?

It will be our biggest store in the entire Ottawa region. The blended staff will include six Travel Consultants, three insurance specialists and three Member Services consultants. It’s also in a very central location at 1331 Clyde Avenue, which has free parking, loads of retails stores and groceries shops nearby.

What will CAA Ottawa offer?

CAA Ottawa offers a full service travel agency, and 6 professional travel consultants ready to assist you in planning your worldwide travels and travel insurance needs, ensuring you are aware of all of the Member benefits for travel you have access to as a CAA Member. Their 3 Member Service consultants are available to assist you with all Membership inquiries and our 3 Home and Auto Insurance representatives are on hand to show you the savings you are entitled to as a Member. They also offer passport and International Drivers Permit photo services, plus a small range of retail items.

Why was it important to bring the two stores together?

Over the past few years, we’ve been listening to CAA Members and the kinds of things that are important to them. One thing is wait times to talk to someone about travel, insurance or their membership. With CAA Ottawa, we’ll have an expanded staff to help answer questions, deal with issues and book travel. In fact, between our six CAA Travel Consultants, we have 34 years of experience covering cross-Canada adventures, cruising, guided tours, luxury trips, and family vacations.

When does the Hunt Club store close and what happens if I need to talk to someone?

From April 15, 2024, our Hunt Club staff will be available for extended hours at the CAA Ottawa location, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm. From the Hunt Club location to the CAA Ottawa store is just 10km.
