Waze Partners with CAA to Give Drivers Peace of Mind on the Road

Drivers are now able to request CAA Roadside Assistance from within the Waze app

[TORONTO] – April 12, 2018 - Waze (http://www.waze.com), the real-time, crowdsourced navigation app, is making it easier for Canadian drivers to contact roadside assistance. Starting today, Wazers will be able to use the in-app Roadside Help feature to connect with professional roadside assistance provided by the Canadian Automobile Association. The ability to work together on the road has always been an important community-driven aspect of Waze and the launch of professional roadside services underscores the company’s continued commitment to promoting safety and localized services to drivers everywhere.

“Waze is a community-driven app that does more than help drivers beat traffic - it also leverages the power of crowdsourced data to support drivers in times of need and distress,” said Mike Wilson, Canada Country Manager, Waze. “It is our goal to get everyone to their destination safely, and with CAA as our premier roadside assistance partner in Canada, we’re able to offer Wazers a comprehensive roadside assistance offering that can be accessed at the touch of a button.”

In 2017, Waze received more than one million annual reports of cars stopped on the road across Canada. With the new partnership, stranded drivers will now have easy access to professional roadside assistance via CAA. Wazers anywhere in Canada can be connected 24/7 with the roadside services provider whether they already hold a CAA membership or not. Services include towing, tire changes, lockout, battery boosts, fuel delivery and more. CAA Members will receive service as per their regular membership. Non-Members can pay as they go.

“Working with Waze and being the premier roadside provider for its community of drivers aligns with our best-in-class emergency roadside assistance services,” said Jeff Walker, Chief Strategy Officer. “We’re glad to be able to offer Wazers the benefit of CAA at the touch of a button, helping them continue safely on their travels.”

CAA, which has been providing roadside assistance for close to a century, answers an average of three million calls a year from Canadians needing help at the side of the road.
