Overview
We are seeking a Manager of Digital Strategy & Performance to lead and continuously evolve our digital marketing ecosystem across Membership, Insurance, Travel, and Rewards.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Marketing, this role owns digital strategy, performance, and optimization—ensuring best‑in‑class execution across channels, a high‑performing website and online sales funnel, and consistent application of insight‑driven, test‑and‑learn thinking. The Manager builds and leads a high-performing Digital team that operates as a centre of excellence in support of the broader Marketing organization.
This leader partners closely with Lines of Business (LOB), guides third‑party vendors, and translates performance data into insights, recommendations, and action. Beyond results, this leader is accountable for raising the quality of digital thinking, strategic decision-making, and innovation across CAANEO.
This role requires a leader who is equally strong in strategy, communication, and operational execution—someone who can build a strong team, manage complex work with discipline, and consistently elevate marketing outcomes through insight and guidance.
Responsibilities
Digital Strategy & Leadership:
- Own and articulate CAANEO’s end-to-end digital strategy across LOB’s (Membership, Insurance, Travel, and Rewards), ensuring alignment to business priorities and growth objectives.
- Establish and maintain a clear digital vision and roadmap that balances performance, innovation, experimentation, and long-term capability building.
- Act as the senior digital thought leader within Marketing – raising the quality of digital thinking, insight, and strategic decision-making across the organization.
- Identify new opportunities and strategies to enhance Return on Investment (ROI) and Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) and overall digital efficiency across channels.
- Guide integrated digital marketing strategies across paid media, SEO, SEM, and social advertising
- Define and lead CAANEO’s digital personalization strategy across web and digital marketing, leveraging a Customer Data Platform (CDP) to guide the use of audience data, behavioural insights, and experimentation to personalize experiences, targeting, and messaging—driving greater relevance, engagement, conversion, and performance across channels.
Team Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Digital Marketing Specialists (x3), setting clear expectations, priorities, and standards of excellence as a Support to the Marketing team
- Build a Digital Centre of Excellence that operates as a trusted strategic and operational partner to marketing and LOBs
- Establish clear roles, ways of working, and standards that enable the Digital team to support multiple priorities efficiently without becoming a bottleneck.
- Ensure the team balances execution excellence with proactive insight generation, strategic guidance, and innovation.
Project Management & Operational Leadership
- Serve as a strong operator who brings structure, prioritization, and discipline to digital initiatives across Marketing.
- Lead complex digital projects and initiatives end‑to‑end, ensuring clear scopes, timelines, ownership, and outcomes.
- Manage competing priorities across teams and Lines of Business, making informed trade‑offs to maximize impact and delivery.
- Ensure work is well‑planned, well‑sequenced, and delivered with consistency and quality.
Stakeholder Communication & Influence
- Partner closely with Marketing and LOB leaders to translate business goals into clear, actionable digital strategies
- Communicate digital performance, insights, and recommendations clearly and confidently to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Build trust and alignment by measuring performance, setting clear priorities, and driving shared ownership of digital outcomes
Website, Sales Funnel & Performance Optimization
- Provide strategic oversight of CAANEO’s website and digital sales funnel, ensuring strong performance across acquisition, conversion, and engagement.
- Use web and funnel performance insights to guide decisions, prioritize initiatives, and optimize conversion, Cost Per Lead (CPL), and overall efficiency.
- Translate performance data into clear insights, recommendations—moving beyond reporting to decision support.
- Proactively identify and lead insight‑driven optimization and testing opportunities to reduce friction
- Lead the implementation and ongoing governance of analytics tracking, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability
- Establish and maintain a clear measurement framework that connects website and funnel performance to business outcomes
Digital Ecosystem & Vendor Leadership
- Provide strategic and operational oversight of CAANEO’s digital ecosystem, including platforms, tools, analytics, and external partners.
- Guide the evolution of digital capabilities in response to AI, automation, and platform change.
- Manage third‑party vendors and agencies with clear expectations, accountability, and performance measurement.
- Ensure partners are fully aligned to CAANEO’s operating model, priorities, and standards.
Requirements

Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business, Digital Media, Analytics, eCommerce, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in digital marketing, including performance marketing, SEO, paid media, digital analytics, and customer acquisition.
- 5+ years of leadership experience developing and leading high-performing teams.
- 5+ years of experience leading eCommerce strategies and optimizing digital customer journeys and conversion performance.
- Proven ability to develop and execute digital strategies that deliver measurable business growth.
- Experience leading digital transformation or advancing organizational digital maturity.
- Experience operating effectively within complex, fast-paced, and cross-functional environments.
- Experience managing external agencies, technology vendors, and strategic partners.
Digital & Technical Expertise
- Strong expertise in digital analytics platforms including Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and Google Tag Manager.
- Demonstrated strength in performance measurement, conversion optimization, and data-driven decision making.
- Experience with content management systems (Drupal), customer data platforms (Bloomreach), and data visualization tools such as Power BI are assets.
- Understanding of digital governance including privacy, consent management, and data compliance practices.
- Awareness of emerging technologies and AI applications impacting digital marketing and customer engagement.

Compensation
- Salary: $100,000 - $120,000
