Building resilient communities together

At CAA, we make life a little better for our Members and communities.

Across Ontario, CAA North & East Ontario is doing a million little things to support the people and organizations in our cities, towns and neighbourhoods.

Since 1913, CAA has been an advocate for safe roads for all Canadians.

We also strengthen our communities by partnering with organizations that support families, Indigenous communities, new Canadians, and under-resourced schools.

First Time Fans

First Time Fans is a CAA North & East Ontario program that ensures access to games, museums and cultural events for families across our territory. Working with community organizations rather than individuals, we distribute thousands of tickets to football, soccer and baseball games and other events every year, so everyone can be part of the great Canadian family.

Immigrant settlement agencies

CAA has always been a good neighbour who helps in the community, wherever we’re needed by our Members. But we also support those new to Canada who may still be finding their way. From Ottawa to North Bay and Sudbury to Thunder Bay, we support immigrant settlement agencies supporting new Canadians.

Indigenous organizations

Canada has been shaped by our First Nations and Inuit peoples. Listening, learning and supporting indigenous partner organizations is part of what we do at CAA North & East Ontario. Our CAA family includes Tungasuvvingat Inuit Ontario, the Northern Nishnawbe Education Council, and Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival in Ottawa.

Sports Day the Girls Way

Research shows that girls drop out of sport significantly earlier than their male peers, and even less girls are joining or participating in sports. Every autumn, we sponsor Sports Day the Girls Way, which invites more than 800 elementary school girls to spend the day playing and learning from women sports leaders in a supported environment at TD Place in Ottawa.

Sens Skills

Every year, 10,000 young hockey fans gather at Canadian Tire Centre to witness their hockey heroes compete in the Sens Skills and have a great day out, courtesy of CAA North & East Ontario. Through Sens Skills, we distribute tickets to girls’ and boys’ hockey teams, and those representing new Canadian communities.

Testimonials

It’s been a great way for us to learn more about Canadian culture and just enjoy the day together.
