Your itinerary at a glance

Day 1: Overnight flight to Japan

Days 2-4: Tokyo (3 nights)

Day 2: Arrive in Tokyo and begin exploring Japan's fascinating blend of tradition and innovation.

Day 3: Visit the Imperial Palace grounds, Meiji Shrine and fashionable Ginza district.

Day 4: Explore the Tokyo National Museum and visit the innovative Avatar Robot Café.

Day 5: Hakone (1 night)

Cruise Lake Ashi, ride the Hakone Ropeway and enjoy views of Mount Fuji and the surrounding volcanic landscape.

Days 6-7: Takayama (2 nights)

Day 6: Visit Matsumoto Castle and travel into the Japanese Alps for a traditional Hida beef dinner.

Day 7: Discover Takayama's historic district, morning market and preserved Edo-period streets.

Days 8-9: Kanazawa (2 nights)
