Making a report at the Collision Reporting Centre (CRC)

Have you been involved in a collision and instructed to report at the CRC (Collision Reporting Centre) by the police? You have the option of taking your own pictures or towing your vehicle directly to the reporting centre.  Here's a guide on what to do next, along with important reminders and information to assist you through the process.

What to bring to the reporting station before your vehicle is towed:

  • Your driver’s license (the person who was driving the vehicle must attend).
  • The original ownership and insurance documents from the vehicle (no photos or copies).
  • Pictures of all four sides of the vehicle, with visible and readable plates.
  • A pictures of your dashboard and odometer if functional.
  • A picture of your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number).

Consider taking extra pictures, especially focusing on the damaged area(s) of the vehicle(s). Ensure all photographs are clear, well-lit, and detailed.

Once you have the required documentation and photographs, proceed to the reporting center within the next 24 hours. Your vehicle will be towed directly to the garage or body shop of your choice, or your insurance's choice, and won't need to be towed to the reporting centre unless the police specifically request the vehicle.  At the reporting centre you will fill out an R7C form and they will create and accident report for you.
