Your CAA Membership includes Bike Assist™ - our roadside assistance for your bicycle. CAA North & East Ontario's Bike Assist offers the same peace of mind that comes with vehicle roadside assistance. That means you have coverage 24 hours, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Each Bike Assist service call counts as one roadside service. Check your Membership level for your maximum number of calls and towing distance.

Bike Assist FAQ

Your CAA Membership includes Bike Assist - roadside assistance for your bicycle. CAA North & East Ontario's Bike Assist offers the same peace of mind that comes with vehicle roadside assistance. That means you have coverage 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 

Call 1-800-CAA-HELP (222-4357) to request service.  Advise the agent that you do not have your membership card with you, and provide your telephone number, name, and address so that your identity can be confirmed. 

Yes, CAA Bike Assist provides a tow up to 10km.  Any repairs would be at your own cost. 

Service will be provided when possible. If a roadside repair cannot be completed, CAA will arrange to transport the Member and their bicycle, subject to your towing limits based on your CAA Membership type.

Bike Assist is available anywhere CAA NEO provides roadside assistance. Service will not be provided to inaccessible areas, such as parks, trails, private and unmaintained roads.

As with any vehicle, calls for Bike Assist will be within the standard service times. Longer wait times may be experienced if specialized equipment to service the call is required (ie. tandem bicycles or adult tricycles).

Yes, each call for Bike Assist will count as one of the provided tows for that respective Membership level.

Yes, service will be provided based on the level of Membership. Everyday Members will receive one (1) call up to 10 kilometres of towing; Classic Members will receive up to 10 kilometres per tow; Plus Members will receive up to 200 kilometres per tow; and Premier Members are eligible for 320 kilometres for one tow per Membership year and 200 kilometres for any tows after that.

No, as the ownership of the bicycle cannot be verified.

Yes, however they may require specialized equipment that could result in longer wait times.

At this time service cannot be guaranteed for child bicycle trailers. Our fleet, brokers and contractors are not equipped with child seats, therefore alternative transportation would need to be arranged at the Member's expense.

Yes, providing the bicycle still makes use of standard pedals and chain, but with a mounted external electric motor. Motorcycles, electric scooters and mopeds are covered under Plus and Premier Memberships only, as they must be serviced by a flatbed truck. Please note that mobility scooters are not covered.

Only Members and their Associates are permitted to be towed.

Bicycles for underage children will only be serviced if the parent/guardian is with the child. However, as our fleet and contractors are not equipped with child seats, alternative transportation would need to be arranged for children, which would be at the Member's expense.

Refunds will only be applied if CAA is contacted first and any refund will be based on CAA prevailing rates. Please see our reimbursement page for more details.

Reimbursement will vary, depending on the circumstances and will be considered for service within Canada. You may apply for a reimbursement by filling out our form.
